Sailing along Silk Road” Photography Exhibition Opened
Updated:2017-07-11 18:32:56

On the afternoon of July 9th, “Sailing along Silk Road—the debut of a photo collection from Royal Museums Greenwich of England” began its global tour in Eastern Zhejiang Marine Folk Culture Museum (Anqing). The exhibition was expected to show 250 photos featuring traditional Chinese ships and shipping industry.
The photos on display all came from the collection of David Watters, a commander of the British Navy; they vividly represent the symbiotic relationship among ships, people and ports at the 1930s Chinese seaside. Besides, they are also by far the richest and most complete picture record found of modern Chinese seafaring at home and abroad.
As the first stop of “Sailing along Silk Road”, Eastern Zhejiang Marine Folk Culture Museum (Anqing) made a series arrangement like outer wall advertisements, exhibition guidance, lobby interaction, convenient channels, a main exhibition and an interactive entertainment zone, etc. It integrated knowledge, entertainment and attraction, bringing a visual feast of ships, sea and culture to the citizens and tourists alike.
It’s said that the exhibition tour will last until Sept. 9th.
